45 years ago, today, I boarded a train from Boston to Fort Dix, New Jersey. I was drafted prior to the draft being abolished. I had guys from Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and other states from the Northeast in my barracks. I was chosen to be our squad leader. Needless to say, we weren’t very happy sitting in our new home.

Some treat! More like a trick!!(smile) So every Halloween I am reminded of that chapter along my journey. We did our duty!!!
