~~~~What a day!   August 10th, 2017
My time spent with the Blind Veterans Group on the 10th was beyond words. I had no doubt that these brave men and women had courage. They answered Uncle Sam’s call and served our country with pride.
I must say that when I saw how brave and courageous they are today, with their disability, I was in awe! If you closed your eyes and listened to the group you’d NEVER suspect they were legally blind. They were laughing and “cutting up” with each other and having a good ole time.
I have been invited by my friend and mentor, Dr. Paschal Baute, to be the guest speaker at the monthly
meeting of The Blind Veterans Association in Lexington, Ky., on Thursday. August 10 th .
Dr. Baute is a member of this group and I am honored to be given the opportunity to speak with these
veterans. Dr. Baute told me from the very beginning of our journey together to try to know your
audience. This audience allows me to share one of my stories that my producer and friend Keith
Richardson and I recorded on CD. After all, that is the basic premise behind recording SIX of my stories.
I am looking forward to spending time with these brave people. I’ve been told there can be anywhere
between 30 and 45 veterans at a meeting.
Snippets of the six stories are available on reverbnation.com. You can purchase them in their entirety on
amazon.com or createspace.com. Search adifferentkindofstorybook.
Thank you for following us.
~~Signs of Growth
Earlier this evening one of my kids from my 6pm Drug Court group called and needed a favor. This person was having car trouble and when the problem was resolved, asked to borrow $5 for gas.
I said yes and waited for my kid to come by my apartment. As I was waiting, this thought came to me. We both came out of a serious storm in our past.
I was sitting on my porch, bracing for the potential storm heading our way, preparing my 9th published book. Once again, the team of adifferentkindofstorybook.com has come together and I believe, will deliver a very good product.
Oh, by the way, I had my music box out there with me. In the background, I had “you are my soul”, by my friends, PROTOTYPE.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers from adifferentkindofstorybook.com       2017
  I was truly blessed to have a father who was also my dad. My dad was extremely gifted. He could fix almost anything AND he could sing. Growing up the neighborhood kids would come to our house to have their wagons and bicycles fixed. Their parents would come by if they needed their vehicles or something around their houses fixed. True story!
     My dad planted several traits in me, while I was growing up that help me become and be a man. There were many, MANY times that I would want to run up the street and hang out with my friends, but if he was working on something, he would insist that I help him FIRST.
Went out tonight to hear and see my brothers, Brett & Steve, of Prototype. My little sis, Clarice came with me and we had a wonderful time. They can perform!!! They performed a few of their original new tunes and gave me a copy of their new CD. If you’re looking for a relaxing night out, I urge you to try and catch one of their performances.
I am happy to promote my brothers! PROTOTYPE. Coming to a place near you! (smile)
